Multimorbidity and frailty are two complex syndromes associated with aging. A new ADVANTAGE JA article published by Work Package 4 is assessing the correlations between these two syndromes in a systematic review and meta-analysis including 48 studies and 78 122 patients.

On January 29th, the Dutch team of ADVANTAGE JA from the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) met the Ageing Better group (BeterOud in Dutch)
Policy and professional leaders from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man were joined by the Director of Integrated Care from the Republic of Ireland for a Frailty Symposium in Edinburgh on 22nd February 2018. Sixteen delegates connected face to face and virtually. They represented a broad range of disciplines including nursing, rehabilitation, allied health professionals, emergency medicine, geriatric medicine, primary care and palliative care. Their roles spanned policy, practice, quality improvement, education and research related to older people, integrated care, public health and chronic disease.
Professor Leocadio Rodríguez-Mañas, leader of the ADVANTAGE JA, has been recently invited to become corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of the Valencian Community.
