A stakeholder workshop was held in NCPHA, Sofia, Bulgaria on November 10, 2017. The meeting was attended by NCPHA experts on the issues of NCD's, experts from Ministry of Health and representatives from the 28 Regional Health Inspections in the country.

The meeting discussed the increasing burden of chronic diseases, associated with the onset of disability in the older population. Information about the new ADVANTAGE JA website was also provided. The activities carried out in 2017 on the four health risk factors - smoking, alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet and low physical activity, as well as activities aimed at early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, malignant neoplasms, diabetes, chronic lung diseases were discussed. The event presented a step-by-step analysis of the activities of the National Program for Prevention of Chronic Non-communicable Diseases for the period 2014-2017. The results of several national studies were presented, including a Survey on Sodium Intake among the Population aged 15-75 in Bulgaria by Determination of Excretion of sodium in the urine (2016-2017).
